Jake is the Corporate Director of Community Services for Carmarthenshire County Council. His responsibilities include Community Health and Social Care, Housing, Leisure and Sport and Public Protection. He is also the Deputy Chief Executive and Statutory Director of Social Services for Carmarthenshire. Prior to taking up this role, Jake was the Director for Education and Children’s in Pembrokeshire County Council. He left Pembrokeshire after successfully leading them out of the `special measures’ status he inherited on his arrival in 2012.
Since 2015, Jake has Chaired the Mid and West Wales Safeguarding Board, CYSUR.
Jake’s working career started as a Community Service Volunteer and as a Residential Care Officer in children’s homes in Essex and the West Country. This lead to a series of management roles in 3 London Boroughs as a qualified Social Worker and then in a range of Management roles before moving to Wales as the Head of Children's Services for Carmarthenshire County Council in 2005.
Jake is married with two children and lives in Carmarthen. He has a keen interest in Athletics.
Robin became managing director of Cartrefi Croeso in July 2018. Before that he started his career in housing management and community/co-operative development followed by a directorship of a housing association. After running his own housing and regeneration consultancy he joined the public sector as Head of Housing in a south west council before joining the Audit Commission in Wales as a Best Value Inspector/Performance Specialist. He joined Carmarthenshire County Council as Head of Housing in 2004, added Public Protection to his portfolio in April 2014 and the provision of Care Services in 2015. Robin has been a board member of a number of housing associations, and is currently a trustee of Tai Pawb and a housing adviser to the Welsh Local Government Association. He recently chaired a ministerial task force looking to find ways of delivering more affordable homes in Wales. Robin lives in Pembrey, is a follower of the Scarlets and West Ham, and is a Governor of Pwll Primary School.
